I’m calling out to all my food lovers. If you’ve ever been described as a “foodie” over lunch with friends or you get so excited about finding a good new restaurant, like new episodes of your favorite show excited… I’m talking to you!
This is my place, let me take you there: Imagine walking into a new restaurant only to find your friend working behind the counter, one you haven’t seen in a while. Already you’re stoked, it’s made your day! Once you’ve had hugs and hellos you dive into the menu together. It’s overwhelming but in a good way. Everything looks so yummy, so weirdly delicious! Kale sounds so good, with sweet potatoes and deep fried cauliflower. But, with the recommendation of your friend and everyone else who’s ever eaten here basically, you decide to go for the burger (or veggie burger in my case).
It’s wonderful. From the poppy seeds on the toasted bun, to the shape of the french fries with their homemade ketchup (I’ll repeat myself homemade ketchup!), to the cold beer on tap. You are happy… engulfed in friendship and warmth. Next thing you know the owner is at your table shaking your hand and getting your name. It makes you feel like a million bucks.
I have to admit finding a place like the Naglee Park Garage does feel like a million bucks to me. Almost as good as the warm bowl of chocolate bread pudding with fresh whipped cream…
Like them on Facebook and for Pete’s sake go get a burger!
